As you all know by now, I love journaling. It's something I've only recently started doing and it really is life changing.
I journal twice a day, at night it's my B.E.E.T journal and in the morning I do this,
List 10 things I'm grateful for and really sit with each thing I list and feel that gratitude. Obviously top of my list every day, is my kids and I sit and visualise moments I've had with them. I do this with each thing I list.
Second I write down the names of 3 people who are really aggravating me. And genuinely send them love. (This one's tough but it's good for your soul).
And lastly I write down and review my goals for the day. 3 Professional Goals and 3 Personal goals.
So lets break this down a bit,
The list of 10 things to be grateful for, now if you're in a negative space right now, that's ok. You still need to think of 10 things to list. For example, you're reading this post that means you have a device to do so on, right? You're reading it which means you have the ability to read, right? It means you're alive. You're breathing. You have some form of internet or at least data. Etc. There is ALWAYS something to be grateful for. When we start our day with gratitude, it sets up the rest of our day to search for things to be grateful for and when you're in a state of gratitude, you cant be worried, you cant be stressed, all of these negative emotions cannot function in your mind and heart at the same time that gratitude does.
Next, sending three people who have really pissed on your battery love. This ones a little tough however there's an old saying that goes, if you hold on to anger or resentment towards someone else, you're taking the poison expecting the other person to die. So instead, let that go, send at least three people love and I know its hard but its good for YOUR soul. And trust me those 3 people probably don't know that they've upset you in the first place and if they do, I guarantee you they're over it and living their lives, not thinking about you. So why are you wasting your valuable energy worrying about them or whatever happened. Send them love and move on.
Lastly, I write out my goals for the day, 3 personal and 3 professional goals. Now these will look different for everyone. As I'm a full time writer / blogger, my professional goals for the day could be, preparing an article, following up with a Mompreneur I'm featuring that week, trying a new beauty on a budget trick, ect. The personal goals differ every day too, ie take the kids to the jungle gym for an hour, paint my nails (yes we moms have to actually schedule that in for ourselves!)
Give this a try and even if you dont like this set up, figure out what works for you in your life and journal guys and girls!
