Feature Friday: Mompreneur Rakha Hiralal owner of Ballito Baby

Happy Friday Lovelies!

Yes its Friday, which means its almost the WEEKEND BABY and more importantly its time for this weeks Mompreneur Feature Friday!!! This week I'm profiling Rakha Hiralal owner of : Ballito Baby,  "outfitting tiny humans".

How ADORABLE are these tiny outfits, I want one of everything, for my daughter of course, or maybe Rakha can get me the adult version and Emma and I can go full on TWINNING! Ok checked with my Mr and this is a no-go, apparently I'm "crazy" now.

Anyway back to the adorableness, Rakha started Ballito Baby in May of this year with the idea of helping mommies source themed wear for their children, as well as comfort wear available in organic cotton.

So how did this business idea come about in the first place? Here's Rakhas' story,

"My Daughter always dressed in tutu’s and frill’s and they were not always easy to source. She always wore a tiara (still does, occasionally) and I was always searching the Internet for themed wear. There were time’s I waited three month’s for a single item to arrive."

I think we can all agree that if you had to wait as long as 3 MONTHS for an order you'd get pretty upset to say the least. Especially if you specifically ordered an outfit for your childs birthday party. Which is what sparked the idea for Rakha to do the hard work for all of us moms.

"I have been a stay at home mum since my Daughter was born in 2012. Being a Pinterest mum, I have always done personalised Party’s, themed wear, movie character wear. I know that sourcing these item’s is not always easy, so after acquiring the expertise in searching for these, I decided to help other mum’s by supplying them."

Here is the pricelist for all of these AMAZING outfits,

The comfort range is R160 to R280.

Themed wear R330 to R450.

Birthday Range R360 to R400.

Party Range R340 to R450.

All stock on the Website is in stock and will be couriered once payment has reflected. Delivery to Ballito is free and we usually deliver the same day of order, once we receive proof of payment.

Post baby body image

The intention of this post is to reassure every single women and especially moms with body image issues that we ALL have them. These photos of me were taken exactly 8 days after giving birth to my daughter, Emma. I knew I had a "pouch" but I didn't care. I was so proud of my body for the absolute miracle of being able to birth 2 kids, 18 months apart. I was superwoman. My body was a freaking machine! Prior to this, I would've been on a diet for months before allowing any bikini pictures to be taken of me, let alone actually post them. I remember a few years back exercising and dieting like a machine for months before going on vacation to Zanzibar and even then I wasn't entirely happy with my body. The pride I had in my body, was unfortunately short lived though. We are all constantly inundated, with edited photos of women and even though, we all know those pictures aren't real, we still unconsciously shame ourselves for not looking a certain way. My weight has...

So your kids birthday is in January

So.... my son Riley’s birth date was supposed to be the 31st of January three years ago but little did we know our little one was impatient and after 27 hours of labour (unmediated and no he’ll never hear the end of that story... he’ll be like 50 and my speech will include his birth story..... FOREVER) Anyway so my guy arrived 3 years ago on the 15th of January! Yip smack bang in the middle of the brokest month of the year. So if this is the case for you as well, I’ve got you covered. Either only celebrate your kiddos birthday after payday (I mean they won’t really remember) just have family over for a mini celebration OR prepare everything months in advance. When you’re out doing your monthly shop, grab a gift or 2 and hide it away. In most cases especially with my favourite gifting lady Sayuri from All in the Presents, you can prepay for your kids party packs MONTHS in advance, same with the cake, etc. Decor can be bought from the China shops, cheap as chips. You can also grab a few ...

School holidays

It’s day 18 of what can only be described as a hostage situation…. Also known as “school holidays”. Day 1: This is wonderful! Almost a whole month with my two kids under 3. Day 2: Ok so the house has been destroyed by mini versions of myself but it’s ok, I’ll do a clean up twice a day. Day 3: TV time rules are now out the window. Day 4: Give out a few Christmas gifts early in exchange for 5 minutes of silence. Day 5: What the hell is that smell? Oh wait, that’s me…. Day 6: What day is it? Can I have a nap please. Day 7: Check in with fellow moms, I am not alone, everyone’s over the holidays now…. Day 8: I now understand why my mom used to send me to my aunts for school holidays. Day 9:  Christmas Eve, try to go for a last minute shop before Christmas Day…. Buy each kiddo another toy to avoid shop meltdown. Day 10:  Christmas Day, granny exhausted kids, Granny for the win! Day 11: Toys EVERYWHERE Day 12: Cake for breakfast? Day 13: I’ve forgotten what it’s like to go to the toi...
