Feature Friday: Mompreneur Jessica Scott owner of Mia Bella Creations

 Hi Lovelies,

Its Friday, which means its time for this weeks mompreneur feature! I'm so excited about this weeks one because not only is Jessicas work beautifully and immaculately made but she is also an absolute sweetheart and a dream to do business with.

I first heard about her business on one of the mommy Facebook groups, someone had mentioned a lady that does these name signs with hanging icons, with all of the babys birth details on and I thought WOW that's so unique and special. So I contacted Jess immediately after having my son 2 band a half years ago. She's done these signs for both of my kids over the years. The signs can be done in a mirror finish or any colour of your choice. These beautiful signs complete both of my kids rooms, hanging over there beds and I will keep them forever, they are just so special.

But this isn't all that Mia Bella Creations makes, Jess has expanded her business and does wedding and events decor, personalised gifts, printing on clothes, as well as personalised blankets. If there's something special and personalized you need done, Jess is your go-to lady.

Now building a business doesn't just happen overnight, it takes, tenacity, sleepless nights, blood, sweat and tears. Jess has been through it all to build her amazing company, which actually started from spotting a Christmas ornament on Pinterest!

Here is her story:

Jess was a hairdresser for 8 years, with a masters in Wella Colour, when she finally fell pregnant after almost 3 years of trying, she couldn't imagine, not spending every possible moment with her miracle baby.

So she decided to become a stay at home mom. One day while scrolling through Pinterest she spotted a personalised, laser cut Christmas ornament, that she absolutely loved and went on the hunt to find a supplier, who had had a machine that could make them for her. She had one made and starting advertising and the rest as they say is history. Its been 3 years since that and she now owns her own laser cutting machines and has an enormous product line.

Mia Bella Creations is based in Westville, however delivery can be arranged at an additional cost.

Day 4: Give out a few Christmas gifts early in exchange for 5 minutes of silence. Day 5: What the hell is that smell? Oh wait, that’s me…. Day 6: What day is it? Can I have a nap please. Day 7: Check in with fellow moms, I am not alone, everyone’s over the holidays now…. Day 8: I now understand why my mom used to send me to my aunts for school holidays. Day 9:  Christmas Eve, try to go for a last minute shop before Christmas Day…. Buy each kiddo another toy to avoid shop meltdown. Day 10:  Christmas Day, granny exhausted kids, Granny for the win! Tips for First Time Moms....

******UPDATES IN PINK****** Labour pain : feels like the worst period pain you've ever had, lasts a while then goes away, comes back for a while goes away. Start timing the duration of the pain experienced and the time between when there's no pain. Water Breaking : Literally feels like a "pop", then instant release of pressure, followed by TONS of liquid, sit on the toilet and once you're ready to go to the hospital put a thick sanitary pad in your underwear. After birth : bath with salt in the water, it will burn but it will help the healing process. Also in case you don't already know, you'll continue bleeding for at least a month after birth. So stock up on pads. Don't  worry about stocking up on size1,2 & 3 diapers, you'll quickly move to size 4 and then 5, stock up on size 5.... believe me. Breastfeeding : I could only breastfeed both of my kids for 5 days. There's absolutely no shame in not being able to breastfeed. Some of us can...

Post baby body image

The intention of this post is to reassure every single women and especially moms with body image issues that we ALL have them. These photos of me were taken exactly 8 days after giving birth to my daughter, Emma. I knew I had a "pouch" but I didn't care. I was so proud of my body for the absolute miracle of being able to birth 2 kids, 18 months apart. I was superwoman. My body was a freaking machine! Prior to this, I would've been on a diet for months before allowing any bikini pictures to be taken of me, let alone actually post them. I remember a few years back exercising and dieting like a machine for months before going on vacation to Zanzibar and even then I wasn't entirely happy with my body. The pride I had in my body, was unfortunately short lived though. We are all constantly inundated, with edited photos of women and even though, we all know those pictures aren't real, we still unconsciously shame ourselves for not looking a certain way. My weight has...
