Cant afford a bump to baby shoot, do it yourself

 Hi mommys,

If you can't afford a bump to baby shoot, go and have a look at Pinterest for cute pics to imitate and get dad to take the pics for you.

What happened to us was, we actually were in a position to pay a substantial amount of money for a bump to baby shoot in February last year. I'd followed the photographers page for over a year, she was listed as a credible business on the Mommy Facebook groups, ect, so I thought she was legit and so we went for it and did an immediate payment planning to do the shoot in July.

Literally the very next day, said photographer (I am not going to name her or her business because I don't want to give her anymore attention than she's already got) was outed by numerous women for either never actually doing the photoshoots or if people were actually "lucky" enough to get theirs done, they'd never get the pictures!

The really sad thing is, she targeted pregnant women, women who'd just given birth and women who needed a wedding photographer. Needless to say all of her pages were taken down and numerous women opened cases against her to try and get there money back.

I was pregnant, so obviously very emotional and just not in the mood to take this women to court. Then of course Covid hit and our business (like many others) took a huge knock. By the time I was 36 weeks pregnant we still didn't have the funds to pay for another shoot to be done.

So I had a look through Pinterest and found a few fun pics to recreate and my fiance took them on his phone. Sure people were looking at us like we were insane, it was after all the 25th of July - so winter - and there was this extremely pregnant women posing on the beach. But I didn't care.

This was taken a year ago today and exactly a week later my daughter decided to pop out.

So if you're in a similar predicament right now, go and have a look at Pinterest for options and get hubby to take your pictures. (Perhaps not beach pictures right now, given the chemical spill)

These are and will remain some of my favourite pictures of all time.

Day 4: Give out a few Christmas gifts early in exchange for 5 minutes of silence. Day 5: What the hell is that smell? Oh wait, that’s me…. Day 6: What day is it? Can I have a nap please. Day 7: Check in with fellow moms, I am not alone, everyone’s over the holidays now…. Day 8: I now understand why my mom used to send me to my aunts for school holidays. Day 9:  Christmas Eve, try to go for a last minute shop before Christmas Day…. Buy each kiddo another toy to avoid shop meltdown. Day 10:  Christmas Day, granny exhausted kids, Granny for the win! Tips for First Time Moms....

******UPDATES IN PINK****** Labour pain : feels like the worst period pain you've ever had, lasts a while then goes away, comes back for a while goes away. Start timing the duration of the pain experienced and the time between when there's no pain. Water Breaking : Literally feels like a "pop", then instant release of pressure, followed by TONS of liquid, sit on the toilet and once you're ready to go to the hospital put a thick sanitary pad in your underwear. After birth : bath with salt in the water, it will burn but it will help the healing process. Also in case you don't already know, you'll continue bleeding for at least a month after birth. So stock up on pads. Don't  worry about stocking up on size1,2 & 3 diapers, you'll quickly move to size 4 and then 5, stock up on size 5.... believe me. Breastfeeding : I could only breastfeed both of my kids for 5 days. There's absolutely no shame in not being able to breastfeed. Some of us can...

Post baby body image

The intention of this post is to reassure every single women and especially moms with body image issues that we ALL have them. These photos of me were taken exactly 8 days after giving birth to my daughter, Emma. I knew I had a "pouch" but I didn't care. I was so proud of my body for the absolute miracle of being able to birth 2 kids, 18 months apart. I was superwoman. My body was a freaking machine! Prior to this, I would've been on a diet for months before allowing any bikini pictures to be taken of me, let alone actually post them. I remember a few years back exercising and dieting like a machine for months before going on vacation to Zanzibar and even then I wasn't entirely happy with my body. The pride I had in my body, was unfortunately short lived though. We are all constantly inundated, with edited photos of women and even though, we all know those pictures aren't real, we still unconsciously shame ourselves for not looking a certain way. My weight has...
